Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Restorae ("Restorae," "we," "us") governing your use of the Restorae mobile application and restorae.app (together, the "Service"). Read them carefully. By creating an account, signing in, or using the Service, you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old in the United States, or 16 in the European Union, to use Restorae. If you are between that minimum and the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you must have a parent or guardian's permission. The Service is not intended for younger children, and we do not knowingly accept them.

What Restorae is — and is not

Restorae is a lifestyle app for emotional self-awareness: daily check-ins on a 2D feeling map, journaling, short reflective programs, brief breathing and grounding exercises, and optional companion messaging. It is listed in the App Store and Google Play under the Lifestyle category.

Restorae is not a medical device, a mental-health or psychological service, a therapist, or a crisis line. It does not diagnose, prevent, treat, manage, or alleviate any medical or psychological condition, and it is not a substitute for professional care. If you are in crisis, please contact 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, United States and Canada), 111 option 2 (United Kingdom), 13 11 14 (Lifeline, Australia), 000 (Australia emergencies), or your local hotline at findahelpline.com. If you are having thoughts of self-harm, please stop using the app and reach a trained human.

Your account

You are responsible for:

  • Keeping your login credentials confidential.
  • Everything that happens through your account.
  • Telling us promptly (support@restorae.app) if you suspect unauthorized access.

We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms, or that we reasonably suspect is being used for fraud, abuse, or to harm another user.

Companion feature

You can pair with up to three trusted people as "companions." Companions see only your most recent quadrant on the feeling map, the timestamp of your last check-in, and a count of consecutive rough days. They never see your check-in notes, journal entries, reflections, or your map. You can pause, remove, block, or report a companion at any time. Misuse of the companion feature — including harassment, coercion, or attempts to extract content from a paired user — is grounds for immediate account termination.

Subscriptions, trials, auto-renewal, and refunds

  • Free tier. Unlimited daily check-ins, the full Emotion Map, the Monthly Reflection, at least one tool per category, and your first guided program at no cost.
  • Premium. US$4.99 per month or US$29.99 per year. Prices in other currencies are shown in-app and set by Apple or Google to match local tax and currency rules. Premium adds: every shipped tool and program, AI-personalized programs built from your data, the LLM-narrated Analyzing daily insight, and the Quarterly and Yearly reflections.
  • Trial. Eligible accounts may receive a 14-day free trial of Premium, once per account lifetime. Re-installing the app or creating a new account does not reset eligibility. The trial is server-granted, so we honor it even if Apple or Google has not yet processed a billing event. The trial automatically converts to a paid subscription at the list price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
  • Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled through the App Store (iOS) or Play Store (Android) before the renewal date.
  • Cancellation. Cancel any time in your device's store (iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Restorae, or Play Store → menu → Subscriptions → Restorae). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; we do not prorate partial months or years. Deleting your account does not cancel an active subscription — Apple or Google control billing and you must cancel through them as well.
  • Refunds. Apple and Google process refunds for their respective stores. We cannot refund charges that were billed by them, but we will not object to a refund request you submit through reportaproblem.apple.com or play.google.com/store/account/orderhistory.
  • Price changes. If we change the price of a subscription, we will give you at least 30 days' notice and an opportunity to cancel before the new price applies to your account.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any law.
  • Attempt to access accounts, servers, or networks that are not yours.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to extract source code from the app, except where this restriction is expressly prohibited by law.
  • Upload content that infringes intellectual-property rights, is unlawful, sexually explicit involving any person, or designed to harm others.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service, including automated scraping, spam, or flood traffic.
  • Share your account credentials with anyone else.
  • Misuse the companion feature to coerce, harass, or extract content from another user.

Your content

Check-ins, journal entries, program reflections, and companion messages are yours. You retain ownership of everything you write. You grant Restorae a limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, encrypt, transmit between your devices, back up, and display your content back to you so the Service can function. We do not use your content to train any machine-learning model — ours or anyone else's — and we do not share it with anyone other than the sub-processors described in the Privacy Policy.

Intellectual property and licence to use the app

Restorae (the app design, graphics, typography, written content, and software) is owned by us and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. We grant you a non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms. The detailed end-user licence agreement for the mobile binary is at restorae.app/eula.

Third-party services

Restorae integrates Apple, Google (including Firebase), RevenueCat, DigitalOcean, and Twilio (SendGrid) to handle authentication, billing, push delivery, hosting, and transactional email. Your use of those integrations is also subject to their respective terms. We are not responsible for their products or services. The maintained list of sub-processors lives at restorae.app/sub-processors.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. Restorae does not warrant that using the app will improve your mood, mental health, sleep, productivity, relationships, or any other outcome.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Restorae will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid Restorae in the 12 months before the claim arose or US$50. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations; in those jurisdictions our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Indemnity

You agree to defend and indemnify Restorae against any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third party's rights.

Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, excluding its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by JAMS under its Streamlined Arbitration Rules, seated in Wilmington, Delaware, in English, except that either party may bring an individual action in small-claims court. You and Restorae each waive the right to a jury trial and the right to participate in a class action.

If you are a consumer in the European Union, United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction where mandatory consumer-protection laws require otherwise, the arbitration clause above does not limit your rights to sue in your local courts, and the governing-law choice does not deprive you of protections your local law affords.

Termination

You can stop using Restorae at any time and delete your account in-app (Settings → Data & Privacy → Delete Account) or via restorae.app/delete-account. Account deletion has a 7-day grace period, after which your data is cryptographically erased; backups age out within 30 days of that. We can suspend or terminate your account for material or repeated violations of these Terms after reasonable notice, or immediately if we are required to by law. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, governing law, arbitration) will survive.

Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified in-app at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
