Is Restorae a mental-health or therapy app?

Accepted Answer

No. Restorae is a lifestyle app for emotional self-awareness. It is not a medical device, not therapy, not a clinical service, and not a crisis line. It does not diagnose, treat, prevent, or manage any condition. We list it under the Lifestyle category in the App Store and Play Store. Question 3

What is a guided program, and how is it matched to me?

A program is a short, structured journey — typically 5 to 14 days, about 10 minutes a day. Each day has a short teaching, a guided practice, and a short reflection. Pre-authored programs cover themes such as social confidence, intentional rest, and savoring. On Premium, the app can also generate a personalized program from your last 30 days of check-ins, run on a private LLM that lives entirely inside our own infrastructure.

What is the Emotional Fingerprint?

After a few weeks of check-ins, patterns stabilize into something only you have: your home quadrant (where you tend to land at the end of a day), your range across both axes, the emotional vocabulary you have grown into, and the time of day you are usually most yourself. The Fingerprint screen surfaces these patterns in one view and suggests programs built on them.

Is my emotional data private?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Check-in notes, journal entries, journal prompts, program-day written reflections, companion direct messages, your email address, and the device sync secret are all encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM, with per-row IV and a server-managed key. Network traffic is TLS 1.2+ in transit, and the mobile app pins the leaf certificate by SHA-256 in release builds. We never sell, share, or use your data for advertising, and we never use any of your content to train any machine-learning model — ours, OpenAI’s, Anthropic’s, or anyone else’s. You can export everything as CSV or delete your account at any time.

What is in the Monthly Reflection — and is it free?

Yes, the Monthly Reflection is free. After enough check-ins in a month it unlocks: your map for the month, the emotions you used most, your range across both axes, and the shape of your days (when you tended to feel best). On Premium you can share or export it as a 9:16 card. The Quarterly Reflection (every 90 days) and the Yearly Reflection (at your account anniversary) are Premium features.

How do daily insights work, and what changes on Premium?

Days 1 to 7 you receive a Teaching insight — a short educational card matched to the quadrant you used most. Days 8 to 30 you receive an Observing insight, a pattern observation drawn from your own check-ins. Day 31 onward you receive an Analyzing insight: free users get a rule-based body assembled from your aggregates; Premium users get the same observation written by a private LLM that runs on our own server. The model never sees raw note content or journal entries unless you explicitly opt in.

Can companions read my journal?

No. Companions see only your most recent quadrant (rendered as a color), the timestamp of your last check-in, and a “consecutive rough days” count if you have been in a high-energy unpleasant or low-energy unpleasant state for a stretch. They never see your emotion word, your map, your notes, your journal entries, or your reflections. You can pause or remove a companion at any time, and you can have at most three companions at once.

Will Restorae work offline?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Check-ins, journal drafts, and tool sessions are written to an encrypted local database (SQLCipher) and queued for sync. When the network comes back, the queue is reconciled with the backend over a signed, idempotent batch endpoint. You can fly, take the subway, or lose Wi-Fi without losing data.

Question 10

How do I cancel my subscription or delete my account?

Accepted Answer

Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google, so cancellation goes through their store: iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Restorae, or Play Store → menu → Subscriptions → Restorae. Premium remains active until the end of the period you already paid for. Account deletion is in-app at Settings → Data & Privacy → Delete Account, or — for Google Play’s no-login deletion path — by emailing privacy@restorae.app from the address on the account. There is a 7-day grace period before deletion is final, and backups age out within 30 days of that.

Question 11

Why does Restorae need my email?

Accepted Answer

Three reasons: signing in if you forget your password, sending you a confirmation if you delete your account, and warning you about a security event tied to your account. We do not send marketing email. Your email address is stored encrypted at rest; we use an HMAC of the lower-cased address as the lookup key, so a database breach exposes neither your address nor a way to brute-force it.
